Located on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland’s South East Corner, Caloundra, by area, is the second largest municipality on the Sunshine Coast. The demands for services placed on the local government by its population required the City Council to construct this 6500m2, 3 level administration building with basement parking, capable of satisfying current and future needs.

Working closely with the Council’s Project Group; Glynn Tucker was chosen as the Structural Consulting Engineer for its ability to provide innovative and cost-effective design solutions.

Clear and concise project documentation allowed the contractors to provide accurate end of project costing framework in an environment, that at the time had some political and community opposition to the project.

  • Schematic, design development and construction design services.
  • Bulk excavation and building construction platform determination.
  • Bored pile foundation systems.
  • Combination slab on ground and suspended ground slabs to mitigate differential settlements.
  • Floor plate column support arrangement, maximising council spacial requirements.
  • Staged construction methodologies, building/floor plate movement joint implementation.
