Civil / Land Development / Project Management / Structural
Hope Island Resort, Gold Coast, Australia
Project Value
$85 Million

Located in the middle of the award-winning Hope Island Resort Precinct on the Gold Coast is this 85 lot Island subdivision. The development is a mix of dry and waterfront allotments across the 7.5-hectare site.

The design team delivered a substantially high level of expertise to the infrastructure coordination process between principle master-planning authorities, Hope Island Resort Corporation and associated professional colleges.

The raw land was originally 80% surrounded by live canals. One of the main design challenges was the design and construction of 140m long concrete revetment wall within the live canal environment. As an alternative to traditional sheet-piling methods, a ‘coffer-dam’ type construction methodology was employed.

Key Design Aspects:

  • Concept, detailed and construction design services.
  • Ground improvement (preload) design, utilising marine reclamation fill material.
  • Bulk and detailed excavation work.
  • Internal roadwork design and documentation.
  • Stormwater, sewerage, potable/grey water and communication services.
  • Deep wet-well Sewer Pump Station design.
  • Bridge flood impact assessment.
  • Bridge and revetment wall construction.
