James Cook University Townsville Campus hosts a Public Health, Tropical Medicine and Rehabilitation Sciences facility specialising in the provision of high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research and training in the areas of population health and tropical medicine, rehabilitation sciences and sport and exercise.

Working closely with the JCU, Glynn Tucker was commissioned as the Structural and Civil Consulting Engineer for its ability to provide innovative and cost-effective design solutions for the new Rehabilitation Sciences building.

The project encompasses a large 2 story building, required to house lecture rooms and offices for the faculty and incorporates conventionally reinforced suspended concrete slabs supported on concrete columns and concrete pad foundation systems.

  • Large span structural steelwork roof framing design and documentation.
